Capturing The Little Things That Make Big Moments...

When I was looking for practice subjects, one of my friends introduced me to a new Mom.  Her mother was going to be visiting and she wanted to shoot all 3 generations together.  Our scheduled session was soon moved up when her mother found out she was very ill and would need to begin treatment very soon.  It was a very sweet session with a lot of hugs.  But during my editing, I was kinda bummed for not getting that "Perfect Pinterest” style photo.

Today I found out her Mother passed away and one of the photos from our session was featured at her memorial service.  It made me realize, that while this began as a practice session, it became a very big moment for this family.  It doesn’t matter about wearing coordinating outfits or the perfect background, it really is about capturing the little things that make big moments.  Every day.

Lesson Learned:  Capture the moment!
